Real Wedding: Emma and Mackenzie

When two young soccer fans get together, you know its going to be a good time.

It was Friday afternoon and just starting to sprinkle in Berrima. Emma and Mackenzie, who had first met at work, were meeting at a location very dear to their relationship. Things had come full circle, for Bendooley Estate was the location of their first date, AND where Mackenzie had proposed, and now they were here again to tie the knot – and a little rain was not going to get in the way.

The Ceremony

Guests had got their Umbrellas out by this time, gathered in front of the stables, but this didn’t dampen on anyone’s spirit. Mackenzie stood in front of the beautiful barn doors eagerly awaiting his bride, and so she joined him in her beautiful white dress.

Rebecca Wright was our officiant, and she began the ceremony with a lovely worded tale of how the two met, and what followed was a truly heartfelt decorum. The vows were personalized, and sincere, it was a touching ceremony.

The Canapes

Guests were moved inside beside the warmth of the gorgeouds iron fireplace at the stables, and the drinks and canapes began. Our Bridal party ducked off for some portrait shots with Zee and Cee Phtography. The impressive Lamington wedding cake was on display.

DJ Ante was setting the mood with some warm up tunes, as I went aroud to introduce myself and familiarize with some guests. I was on MC duties, so it was important for me to get to know a few people.

The Reception

As The Bridal party waited in the bridal suite, I assisted in getting guests seated for the grand entrance – and what an entrance! Our bridal party danced their way in and really kicked off the energy as the crowd clapped along.

Guests were then seated again to find their place cards on the table were all personally hand made pottery by Emma – who has a love of pottery and has taken up the hobby. Such a nice touch!

We heard some truly touching speeches from the parents, and bridal party during the delicious dinner – the food is always good and plentiful at Bendooley.

The Party

After the cake cutting came the first dance, which was followed by the father daughter dance, and since I was informed there were a lot of fathers and daughters present among the guests, I made the call to invite all fathers and daughters to join in partway through.

Dj Ante then kicked things up a notch with some retro party hits, 90s throwbacks and crowd favourites. The drinks kept flowing and the dancefloor was vibrant.

The night was rounded out by the classic archway farewell – everyone got up on the danccefloor to reach arms across and make a tunnel for Emma and Mackenzie to duck through.

I made one last request to the guests to give a big cheer for our bride and groom – to which they gleefully obliged – and bed them all good night.

The Wrap-up

From a rainy and chilly start, things definitely warmed up form there. It was a very welcoming vibe and the guests felt included and a part of the wedding. Things ran smoothly with no hiccups or interruptions, and it was an honest success. Emma and Mackenzie loved how the day turned out, and so did their guests.
