Real wedding: Sophie and Jarred

A night of fun at a brand new wedding venue!

The sun was shining, it was a Saturday. The stage was set for the very first wedding to take place at the brand new Hazel inside Hazelhurst arts centre of Gymea. What an honor to be part of their history!

The Ceremony

As the Arbor and chairs were set up in the garden, beautifully adorned by vhouse florist, guests began to take their seats while awaiting the arrival of our bride. Jarred stood with his groomsmen as Sophie walked elegantly down the aisle to the sounds of Jack Rose, gently strumming his acoustic guitar and singing a rendition of Stephen Sanchez’s Until I Found You.

Lauren Kayle – live committed conducted a truly special ceremony, all captured on photo and video by Jack Jones.

Cocktail Hour

We then made our way through the gardens, to the deck to enjoy some fresh Aeprol Spritz while Sophie and Jarred strolled through the grounds for their portrait photos. But the cocktails didn’t stop there – Our bride and groom returned to cocktail our to pour themselves a margarita tower!

The Margarita’s were then divvied up among guests as they cut their wedding cake and enjoyed some congratulations from friends and family.

The Reception

We moved inside to the main space of Hazel, a central hub of Hazelhurst Art centre, with various art exhibits on display in the surrounding halls for guests to enjoy.

Sophie and Jarred made a second grand entrance into their first dance. The excitement and joy was then joined by all, as we kicked off the evening with a party session! 20 minutes of dancing and music pumping before being seated again for entrees.

The food at Hazel was nothing short of amazing, with antipasto platters, pasta for entrees and an equally nice spread for main meals as we enjoyed some speeches.

With the cake cutting and first dance out of the way much earlier in the night, there were not many formalities to remain, so we were just about ready to kick off the dancefloor.

Sophie and Jarred had one other thing to mention to me. Although their first dance was great and enjoyed a cheer form al the guests, they told me that it was Sophie’s first time practicing it in her actual wedding dress, and it didn’t quite go exactly as they had envisioned. I told them not to worry – you will get your fairytale first dance, because we are doing this again!

I explained the situation to all our guests, and they were eagerly awaiting to experience the new improved version of the first dance as we gathered around the dancefloor once more. Sophie returned in her 2nd outfit, and so it began. We could all see why they were insisting on another shot at this – and boy was it worth it! Guests were dazzled with dips, twirls and finishing in a lift! If the first attempt was good, the second one absolutely nailed it!

The Party!

This set up the party perfectly, as the sun was setting now the party lights came on. Glowsticks were handed out for extra dancefloor energy. You know its a good time when you get a full-participation sit-down on the dancefloor, to then all jump-up when the song hits!

200s RnB, 2000s pop-club tunes and some classic pub rock and singalongs kept everyone on their feet. We danced the night away, until it was time for the confetti exit out on the grass.

Sophie and Jarred – a lovely day, into a super fun night!
