An intimate outdoor wedding in a southern highlands vineyard.

The Ceremony

It was a mild October Thusday, and things were shaping up nicely for Susan and Matthew to be wedded in the gorgeous Artemis wines at Sutton Forest. Many venues claim to offer “Vineyard weddings”, Artemis wines is one of the few where ceremonies are fortunate enough to be held in such close proximity to where the grapes grow. We were quite literally in the vineyard!

After getting ready in the on-site cottage further downhill, Mathew and Susan, along with their bridal party made their way up to join their guests as they tied the knot. The Ceremony, conducted by Glenn Millanta, featured some lovely sentiments and truly heartfelt vows. If you haven’t recognised Glenn from attending one of the many weddings he’s recently conducted – then you’d surely recognise him from Married at First Sight!

The Reception

Being a winery, the ceremony concluded with a serve of the house meade for all guests, as the bar was a mere stones throw away. Matthew and Susan ventured out for their portrait shots while the guests enjoyed some more of the wines and drinks on offer in the open air bar. The smell of the wood-fire oven firing up began to tantalise us all.

Upon their return, Mathew and Susan were greeted with cheers for their entry as I played the Flume remix of Disclosure – You & Me.

The rest of the night was a very casual affair, with no formal seating and being outdoors, 45 guests, the only real formalities were speeches early on and then cake cutting, which lead into the first dance.

The Party

From then on it was party time! 90s RnB and 2000s party tunes worked a treat, as well as some 2010s clubby tunes / house remixes of pop songs. The vibes were high – there really is something special about celebrating a wedding under the stars. Dressed in your Sunday best white kicking up some dust and busting a move under the gum trees and party lights is uniquely beautiful experience! The night rounded out with a classic sparkler exit.

Matthew and Susan – a beautiful day into an unforgettable night!
